Configuring Internet Mail

Open your Internet Apps from your Desktop (or use Sherlock to find Internet Mail).

Next, double-click on the icon named Internet Mail and News. Now go up to the Menu Bar and select and hold Windows. From the drop down sub-menu that appears, select Mail by "dragging" the mouse cursor to that line. The main Mail window becomes visible and should look like this:

Internet Mail Window

Note: Before you begin to configure Internet News & Mail please take a few minutes and actually read all of the tips in Getting Started. Some 9 helpful and detailed articles are available to you and provide information to increase your understanding of Internet Mail and News. You will use this Mail window often but first we need to configure your preferences for FDT's mail system. Click on Preferences from the Menu Bar and the next illustration shows how your preferences should look when you have finished.

Remember

  • Your Account ID is in lower case and is that portion of your email address before the @ symbol
  • Your password required here.

Substitute your specific information for the example information written in the illustrations.
